About Me

Hello! My name is Monika Cinbis, and I am a senior at Skyline High School. I was driven to this program by my passion for innovation and change. I hope to learn the intricacies of running a business that can only be realized through first-hand experience. In the future, I aim to apply these skills to help tackle the numerous environmental problems our society faces. I find challenges invigorating, which is reflected in my academic history; I am currently on track to get my diploma in the International Baccalaureate program, and have enrolled in numerous advanced classes, ranging from concurrent enrollment to APs. My goal in life has always been to start a business that makes a meaningful difference in our world. This interest has led me to participate in a variety of clubs where I explore service and leadership. I have participated in DECA and FBLA for 4 years, placing twice internationally at FBLA. I am currently the DECA vice president of Skyline Business Club, and Utah DECA State President. I founded and run an activism club aimed at achieving permanent change within the community called Permanent Action Club. Currently, we are working to institute a program to reduce food waste in lunchrooms across the district. I have also found a way to advocate for my strong environmental beliefs through local organizations including Utah Youth Environmental Solutions, Granite Clean Energy, and Youth Coalition for the Great Salt Lake. Beyond these, I served as the co-captain for policy debate, vice president and student board member for SheTech, and I participate in Technology Student Association and National Honors Society. Outside of these organizations, I find great pleasure in rock climbing, sewing, reading, and writing. Through Granite CEO, I hope to make lifetime connections and learn invaluable lessons and skills. I am beyond excited to participate in this program and see everything that’s in store for me!
